Für Forscher*innen

Die Biobank Graz ist eine zentrale Serviceeinrichtung der Medizinischen Universität Graz und unterstützt die biomedizinische Forschung durch das Sammeln, Bearbeiten und Lagern von hochqualitativen biologischen Proben und den zugehörigen Daten. Die Biobank Graz arbeitet eng mit akademischen und industriellen Forschungspartner*innen zusammen, indem sowohl gezielt Kohorten aufgebaut als auch Basissammlungen betrieben und die Proben mit den dazugehörigen anonymisierten/pseudonymisierten Daten für Forschungsprojekte zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Probensammlungen

Die Biobank Graz an der Medizinischen Universität Graz unterstützt Biobanking-Projekte am Universitätsklinikum Graz. Zusätzlich werden in der Biobank Gewebeproben (FFPE-Blöcke und -Schnitte) des Diagnostik- & Forschungsinstituts für Pathologie gelagert. Für einen besseren Überblick hat das Team der Biobank Graz laufende und auch bereits abgeschlossene Probensammlungen nach ihrer fachlichen Zuordnung untenstehend zusammengefasst.

Zelllinien der Med Uni Graz

In vitro Experimente in unterschiedlichen Zellsystemen können Tierversuche reduzieren und ersetzen. In jedem Fall bilden in vitro Versuche die Grundlage für Tierversuche im Sinne des 3R Prinzips. Die CellBank Graz stellt Forschenden  humane und tierische Zelllinien zur Verfügung, die einem hohen Qualitätsstandard entsprechen.

Zelllinien werden auch auf Bedarf etabliert und eingehend charakterisiert.
