National and International Activities

 

Biobank Graz is an active player in (inter-) natio­nal projects and activities aiming to improve interactions and cooperation in biobanking society.

 

To facilitate national and international collaboration it is cru­cial to actively participate in networking activities, but also being present in the research community for exchanging ideas and knowledge. Therefore, Biobank Graz is an active member of Biobanking and BioMolecular resource Research Infrastructure Austria (BBMRI.at), the national node of BBMRI-ERIC, one of the largest research infrastructure in Europe.

 

BBMRI.at links Austrian universities and biobanks with the goal to establish a national biobanking research infrastructure for accelerating biomedical research. In this context, Biobank Graz is the leader of the WP5 - "Access to Biological Samples and Services"

 

Biobank Graz is also member of the "International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories" (ISBER) and " European, Middle Eastern and African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking" (ESBB).

Codex4SMEs

Biobank Graz is partner in the European project Codex4SMEs.

The Interreg project Codex4SMEs (Companion diagnostics expedited for small and medium-sized businesses) project plans to improve healthcare by enhanced adoption of Personalized Medicine in North-West Europe. The objective is to establish a network, which supports SMEs along the value chain of Companion diagnostics (Cdx) development.
