  • contains more than 20 million human samples (formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue blocks and slides, fresh frozen tissues as well as a variety of fluid samples such as blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, follicular fluid and seminal fluid) as well as the associated, even follow-up clinical data of donors
  • includes a cross-sectional biobank (with FFPE samples collected for more than 30 years) as well as a disease-focused clinical biobank (with oncological serum samples collected for more than 20 years)
  • supports and offers samples for academic, industrial as well as cooperative research
  • runs database systems in accordance with data protection policies and legislation protecting donor rights
  • pays particular attention to sample and data quality and to the protection of individual rights of donors
